CAR PARK

The asphalting works are complete! The car park will be reopened tomorrow and the 3rd hole will be back to being played as a par 5.

The line marking still needs to be done, so the car park may need to be closed for a day in the near future for those works to take place, but the disruption will be minimal.

HERITAGE COMMITTEE

Did you know? The first golf course on Phillip Island, established around 1910, was located on a former racecourse (horseracing) at the corner of Ventnor Road and Pyramid Rock Road, now beneath a koala reserve. Despite minimal construction, the course featured distinctive two-metre-high posts marking each hole, a reminder to the early days of golf on the Island, where the love of the game outweighed the need for a perfectly manicured course.

COURSE

A Westernport Water main line burst on the 7th tee yesterday. The pipe has been repaired but there is significant damage to the tee. Tomorrow will be played from the front section of the tee.

As a part of the intensive green renovation program, the front 9 will be closed on Monday 7th October and the back 9 on Tuesday 8th October.
